Celebrity Silhouette

Cruise Holidays of Shelby was personally invited to attend the inaugural celebration of the new Celebrity Silhouette cruise ship. Two agents from our office attended the event and I am excited to share our thoughts and observations of this beautifully grand and contemporary new ship.

Celebrity Silhouette Review

The inaugural cruise was sailing out of Bayonne, New Jersey, which is where she will be stationed this winter. I flew into the Newark airport and was whisked away by motor coach to the Bayonne pier, which, by the way, is the most economical method of transfer in New York. The transfer was only about a 15-minute drive, which was delightfully short after my long morning of airport travel. I was anxious to get onboard the ship to see my assigned stateroom, which was a concierge class stateroom with a balcony.

Travel Tip: I always recommend the concierge class with Celebrity because you receive most of the suite amenities at a balcony price. Some of the great amenities that we received since we were concierge level were a welcome bottle of Champaign and fruit platter. We also enjoyed canapés, which were delivered to our stateroom every afternoon.

When I arrived, my room it was stunning! The bathroom was unlike any other cruise ship I have been on. Would you believe that the shower had closing glass doors and you actually had room to move around in the shower? I also appreciated that they even had a bar for the ladies to put their feet up to shave their legs. This is standard in all the cabins! The bathroom was full of storage shelves and drawers, which was a definite plus. I loved the lemongrass bathroom amenities: shampoo, conditioner,

body wash & lotion and appreciated the attention to detail by including cotton balls and Q-tips. There was even a

plug in the bathroom. That may sound funny but I have been on many ships without plugs in the bathroom. Because we were fortunate enough to get a concierge class stateroom, we had thicker towels and a full size bath mat.
